The Northwest Highland Dancers were formally formed in June of 2002. Now there are over 50 dancers who specialize in Traditional Highland Dancing. The NWHD perform and compete all over the Inland Northwest and in Western Canada.

The Northwest Highland Dancers perform throughout the year. These performances include St. Andrew's Society's Spring Ceilidh, World Day, Spokane Indian's Baseball Games, Child Safety Fair, Fall Folk Festival, Celtic Odyssey held at Shadle Park H.S, Christmas Tree Elegance at the Davenport, our Christmas Ceilidh in December and Robert Burn's Dinner & Dance in January. During St. Patrick's week, the dancers perfomed over 90 times at different venues across Spokane.
The NWHD had the opportunity to visit Scotland in 2002,2007 and 2011 and are planning thier next trip for 2014. While they were in Scotland they toured Edinburgh, Glasgow, Isle of Skye, Spean Bridge, Inverness, Gretna Green, Glencoe, Loch Lomond, Moffat, Stirling and Dunbar...just to name a few.
